You Fill My Heart

Hi my friends, today is our monthly team challenge at Elizabeth Craft Designs and our theme is Valentine's Day with You Fill My Heart.  I used a few of the wonderful dies that fit this theme to make my card. Enjoy!

For today's challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on our website to 3 winners

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us "What Elizabeth Craft Designs dies or stamp sets would you use to create a Valentine’s Card??”

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing

The winners will be announced on Friday, February 1st on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Here's how I made my card-

This is a 6" X 6" top fold card.  The base is made from ModaScrap Simply Love paper.
Using White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut one square using the Dashing Squares die.
From White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut 4 heart boarders using the Valentine Edges die.
From red cardstock cut the heart using the Heart Cutouts die.

Using the Love Sentiments stamp set and a stamp positioner - lay out stamps as desired.
For this card I carefully cut apart one of the stamps that says "sent with" because I only wanted the word "with". You can always piece them back together for the entire phrase.

To finish off this card I added the Heart Edges all around and then placed the large heart and the smaller ones the way I liked them.

Don't forget to head on over to the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.  You will want to enter your comment to win the great prize and to see what the entire team made.

Stay Crafty,

More Great Dies From Elizabeth Craft Designs New Release

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday to all of you.  At Elizabeth Craft Designs
we are sharing another great release.  You can see all the great things available right this minute by

I used lots of fun dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs to create this mixed media canvas, you can shop for the ones I used by clicking the links below.

Here are some highlights of how I made it.

I actually found a canvas that had already been started so decided to use it.  It had some texture and a coat of gesso.  I was ready to go.

I cut the canvas open to resemble the way it would open if it had a zipper.  I added the zipper.  I covered the canvas with some beautiful ModaScrap Wood Effects Paper.  Next the zipper pull was glued on.
An insert was created by using a piece of paper that fit inside the opening (shown in red).  I then die cut the Romantic Bouquet  and glued to the red piece.  The decorative panel was then glued in place.

Using the Garden Notes - Asters, I cut several in three colors.  The Asters were assembled and added to canvas with leaves from the same die set.

Using the Soar die, I cut one from black and one from white using fun foam.  The words were stacked and added to the canvas.  The final touch was to cut the Butterfly Aperture and add to canvas.
Finally the reinstones were added and the entire canvas was edged with Vintage Photo Oxide Ink.

Yay!! A New Release from Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hi friends,

I would like to invite you to take a look at what's new at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The design team is showing new dies from ModaScrap just released TODAY!

I made a cute tag for my Valentine's Day gift for Mac.  I used the Love, Life Tag #1500.

This tag is lots of fun because you can make a spot for a hidden message.

I cut two of the longer tag and layered them but that is your choice.  I cut the shorter one from White Soft Finish Cardstock and them cut the design in it with the included die from the set.  I set the hearts aside to use later. I then cut one white circle and one red circle also included in the set.

Next I cut the Tree & Hearts out again using red so I would have hearts in both colors.

The white circle was added to the larger red tag and some hearts were added.  This is a great place to write your special message.  The red circle was added to the back of the smaller tag.

I added the words Hello & Love using the Sentiments 2, Just Because - Stamp and Die Sets.
A twine bow was the final step.

My Valentine doesn't eat many sweets so I decided to write my message in the tag and add it to a nice bottle of red wine.
For the last step I took two of the strings from the twine bow and tied them around the bottle.

Have a crafty week,

Think Outside of the Box

 Hi friends,

Today begins a new challenge over at A Vintage Journey and we were asked us to Think Inside or Outside of the box.  I decided to think Outside the box and made my design on the outside of an unused Configuration Box.  This is such a fun challenge because there are so many possibilities.

To begin my project I covered the box with gesso and then used some Aladine Texture Paste and one of their great stencils to add a doily design.

One more coat of gesso -

I gave the box a spray of Dye Izink, dabbed off some color and then gave it a dry brushing of gesso.
I used a frame from my stash, covered it with gesso.  Next I gave the frame a coat of green using Dye Izink spray.  I glued the frame onto the box and added a few embellishments and the word "Bliss".

Next I added a couple flowers that I sprayed with the same color as the box but watered it down a bit.

I added this beautiful butterfly from Graphic 45 and then added the flowers using brads that were attached through the holes shown above.

The word was painted with gesso and then I put a few highlights of the blue on top. I then added some white gesso splats.

The entire thing was finished off  with some Nuvo Drops.

Have a creative weekend,
