Thinking of You

Hi everyone and Happy Valentine's Day.  Today I am sharing a project I made simply because I felt like making something fun. 

I 've been seeing all of these wonderful designs on Facebook using white on white and wanted to try it.  I got out my Elizabeth Craft Designs dies, papers and Shimmer Sheetz and went from there. While I was at CHA last month I saw a great demo by Fran Seiford using different embossing powder techniques and tried a couple of them on the lettering and the butterflies.  I recently got some new idea-o-logy items so got out this cute little hanger.

One of my friends is having a little bit of a bad time so thought I would try to cheer her up with this.  I have linked all the dies and papers used below so you can shop away simply by clicking on the picture.

Party Animals

Welcome to day 2 of the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.  Our theme this week is GLITTER

 

Have you ever wondered what your pet does when you go off to work or out with friends?  Oh yes, we all think they just sleep to pass the time and patiently wait for our return but I have a different thought today.   I think as soon as we walk out the door they begin to party.  A daytime RAVE.

Not only do our friends have a good time without us, they invite friends, and these guys also found the glitter and have been lovingly sprinkling it throughout the house.

 

I have made an artist trading block feathering one of our animal friends from Karen's collection on each side.  The block is covered with Through the Lens Paper by Els van de Burgt from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Buster is the leader of the pack.

 

 

Whiskers is all dressed up for the party.

 

 

Virgil is tickled pink to be invited.

 

 

Chilly is just the coolest.

GLITTER IS THE WORD!

Hi and welcome to this months Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - as stated in the title, glitter is the theme.  I made a card with lots of glitter that celebrates the Chinese New Year which is also today.  My card is made in the traditional colors, red & gold.  2016 is the Year of the Monkey so, of course, had to use Jinks.

This is a Katie Label Accordion Card with the Katie Stars Frame Edges and lots of  Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs held on with ECD Double Sided Adhesive Sheets.  I found these great numbers at my local craft store, they are made of wood and then glittered.

Destination Inspiration at A Vintage Journey

Industrial

Hi all and welcome to a new challenge month at A Vintage Journey.  This month our hostess chose Industrial.  What a great chance to use some of my favorite things including a fabulous image from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante Line.  I had so much fun creating this canvas - hope you enjoy it.

 

 

 

First few steps were, of course, gesso, paint and some gears glued down to the canvas.  When all that was dry, I used the Measured Layering Stencil to create some random numbers and lines.

 

 

 

I found the image I wanted to use, cut it out and mated it with black.  I didn't stop there.

Next I added a crown to the bird in the background, stamped some little flowers around the bodice, added Glossy Accents and some Remnant Rubs to the small bird, a pearl bracelet and  some Stickles in her hair.  This is a fun way to add some interest and dimension to a print.

 

 For the final step I added some black Gadget Gears held on with brads,

 and a faucet handle to the top.
