For You!

Hi my crafty friends,  today was our monthly WOW meeting and my turn to host.  I thought it may be fun for each person to have their own little treat.  I made these cute little candy holders and added 3 lovely chocolates.  I love how they turned out and they were so much fun and so easy to make.
I have provided dimensions below so you can try it.

I decorated the tops with a piece of Halloween ribbon and then added the graveyard using Karen Burniston's great Halloween Scene die and the small bat from the Midnight the Bat die set, all from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Here's how I made it -

Boy Oh Boy -

Hi and welcome back to the second Designer Challenge Week for the month of October.  This time around the challenge was set by one of my team mates, Summer Hills - Painter.  Here is what she asked  us to do, think rough and tumble, boys will be boys, masculine or manly - no girls allowed!

I had fun with this one because I had a chance to use the great Sports Charms from Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I didn't use them as charms but, instead, placed some of them in the Barrel Basket.  A perfect fit.

For the front on my card I found some free clipart of a baseball online and sized it to fit the circle on the Twist Circle Pop Up Card.  I added the "It's Your" using my e cutter and then finished it off with the word "Birthday" from the Happy Birthday Pop Up.

Nothing says "boy" more than baseball and this one appears to be coming right at you thanks to the fun twist of this card.  Using the same clipart, I printed "Have a Ball!" and then cut it with the circle from the Twist Circle Pop Up.  I used the Outdoor Edges to cut some hills and grass, added a tree and some clouds from the All Season's Tree.  The finishing touch for the inside were some more clouds from the Hot Air Balloon Pop Up.

Don't forget to tune in here tomorrow for a new video and technique from Karen.  If  you would like to see what the rest of the team members made check out Karen's Facebook page here.  See you on Wednesday for Pop it Ups Wednesday on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog.

Have a happy Monday,

You make my gears spin!

Hi friends,

I'm making a quick stop today to share a card I made this week.  The Twist Circle Pop Up Panel Card has been all the rage around YouTube and Facebook.  Lots of people are doing the hand made ones but I prefer to use the modified Twist Circle Card from Karen Burniston.  I have provided a link below if you haven't seen it yet.  It makes the process so much easier with much less cutting and scoring.  I have once again incorporated my love of Steampunk with a fun new technique.
Hope you enjoy.

On the inside of the card I inlayed the larger gears so they wouldn't interfere with the pop up portion of the card.  No catch points that way.  The silver gears are stamped and embossed using Karen's Steampunk Clear Stamps.  I popped up some of the gears using the pop up from the Hot Air Balloon die set.  On the right side I did a partial die cut using the Clock and Gears set.

The front of this card is very simple because all the fun is on the inside.  I used some Tattered Time DCWV paper and simply added a stamped greeting.

As promised, here is Karen's video on the modification of the Twist Circle.

Since anything goes, steampunk, at Sandee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenges, I think I'll enter this one there.

Have a fabulous weekend & I'll see you on Monday,

Designer Challenge - Monochromatic

It's Designer Challenge Week with Karen Burniston and here is her challenge to us:

It's the monochromatic challenge but YOU pick your color from any of the colors of the rainbow. Make a card featuring predominantly Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo or Violet.

I decided to go with blue as I don't use it a lot and I thought it would be good for me to step outside my comfort zone.

I used the Happy Birthday Pop Up card and added lots of bling with stars and glittered candles which also is a little step outside the box for me.  Hope you enjoy.

I kept the front simple because all the fun of a Pop it Ups Card is on the inside.  I used the Agatha Edges to shorten the front panel and then decorated with the Paris Edges and some twine. I simply added Celebrate to finish the front.

The built in Happy Birthday on this Pop Up is just beautiful and so easy to decorate for any age.  I added some glittered candles and some reinstone stars for a bit of extra glitz.  The finishing touch is a glittered streamer on the message panel.

Stop by Karen's Facebook Page to see what the rest of the team made and don't forget to visit Karen's blog tomorrow for a new video from her showing a new technique.

Have a crafty Week,

#100

Tomorrow we are attending a birthday party for a 100 year old woman.  I made this card for her - hope she likes it.  I just had to make one of these Twist Circle Panel Pop Up cards.  It was fun and when you finish, you can't stop opening and closing it.

I think the "birthday girl" will understand the # as number but I'm guessing the young folks at the celebration will say hashtag 100.

I used the Twist Circle die from Karen Burniston to make the pop up section.  If you want to see how to adapt this die to make this spectacular card just click here. Everything else I used is linked below.  Simply click on the photo to see more details or to shop.

Make it Spooky

It's time for a new challenge at A Vintage Journey and this time Anne, our lovely hostess, has asked us to "Make it Spooky".  I have been loving the Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper technique and have made my tag using that technique.

This was lots of fun to make using Alcohol Ink to create the different colors for the background and then dropping yellow Alcohol Ink on top to create the moon.  I placed the Bat stencil from Karen Burniston on top and then removed some of the color using blending solution.  I wanted the haunted house from the Mini Halloween set by Tim Holtz to stand out so first I removed most of the background color by stamping and wiping off the Archival Ink while still wet.  I then went back in and stamped it again with black Archival.  I used my Misti tool for that process.  I die cut one tree from the All Seasons Tree set and placed it in the front.  To finish it off I used one of Tim's skeleton charms along with ribbon and twine.

Hope your October is Spooky,

Autumn Greetings

Just popping in today to send you some Autumn Greetings.  It is still pretty hot here in Arizona but I just love the colors of fall so this card has put me in the mood.  I have used some new and some older dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day.

Enjoy your week,
