Summer Lovin

It's day two of  Designers Challenge week with Karen Burniston.  Her challenge to the team is Summer Lovin.  When I think summer - I think, swimming, picnics and the 4th of July.  I made a patriotic card this time combining 2 of Karen's Accordion Cards, the Star Accordion and the       Fancy Label Accordion.

Don't forget to go to Karen's blog tomorrow to see everything the team made as well as a new video from her.  She always has great techniques to share.

Have a creative week,

Carpe Diem

It's Designer Challenge week and Karen Burniston has challenged us with the theme "Summer Lovin".  I'm taking you on a trip to the beach where Rocky is seizing the day.

I used the Beach Edges to create the sand and ocean and then, of course, Rocky the Crab.  The Palm Tree and Pail added some fun and then I finished off the scene with clouds from the All Seasons Tree and the sun from the Oval Pull Card - all linked below.

Have a wonderful week,

Graduation is here -

Hi friends,

Just stopping by to share a graduation card that I made for our grandson.  It features Poppy as the scholar and he is attached to the Hanging Charm Pull Tab card.

The word "Congrats" fit perfectly on top of the frame and slides up with Poppy to reveal the phrase, "The Sky's the Limit".

Inside I added a pocket to hold the gift and decorated it with the words "A Gift For You" from the Gift Card Accordion die.

It's hard to believe that our youngest grandchild is graduating.  The ceremony is today at noon and we are looking forward to seeing him get that diploma.

All dies used here are from Elizabeth Craft Designs - you can shop by clicking here.

Have a great weekend - see you on Monday for Karen Burniston's Designer Week.

Happy Flag Day

Hi and welcome - today is flag day and there is no better reason than that to show how patriotic you can be.  I love America and all that it stands for - here is my version of the red, white and blue .

This was actually a happy accident.  I was cutting out some pieces for another project when I noticed the scrap that looked like the strips on our flag.

These are the pieces I was going for using the Bead String 1 die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I cut as many as I needed.

Here is the scrap that I ended up with and decided to use.  Why Not?  I simply cut a piece of blue for the top and added some stars from Karen Burniston's Star Fancy Frame Edges and a flag pole.

Have an awesome week,

A Different Point of View

Sometimes when I use a fun product like Karen Burniston’s Hot Air Balloon Pop Up Die I see something different than the intended end result.  I have made several hot air balloons using this die but from the moment I took it out of the package I saw it as a light bulb.  Today I have a quick post card that I made sharing my different point of view, hope you enjoy it.

For the front I simply cut three balloons, turning them upside down and then added the altered gondola, also upside down.    The bulbs were added to a black panel cut from Els van de Burgt’s Dotted Scallop Rectangle.

I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab to make the card slide and stand up revealing the greeting.

For a different point of view simply turn something upside down.

For this post card I used  lots of great dies, stamps and papers from Elizabeth Craft Designs all linked below so you can click to shop.
