You're Invited -

Hi and welcome back for day 2 of  Designer Challenge Week and another day of sharing the Spring Release from Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Karen challenged the team to use her great Stage It Stencils and I decided to make an invitation.  The new release has some great baby related items as well as some fun umbrellas and, of course, I used both along with one of the new the clear stamp sets.

For the front of my invitation I used the Baby Pajamas Stencil, alternating the rows with pink and blue pajamas.  I cut 2 umbrellas from the Baby Charms Die Set and stamped with the Baby Clear Stamp Set.  The panels are from the new Dotted Scallop Rectangle Set from Els Van de Burgt, also from the new release.

On the inside I created the printed invitation on my computer and then added the rest of the fun elements.  The little pajamas are so sweet with the stitched edges.  This set also includes the cute little bunny as well as the pacifier seen at the bottom of the page.

I have linked all products used (old and new) at the end of the post so feel free to click and shop.

Don't forget that tomorrow Karen will have a new video showing a new technique using her great dies, stamps and stencils. Visit her blog here to see what the entire team came up with for this challenge.

Happy Crafting,

Designer Challenge Week and new stuff!

It's a double happy day because it's not only Designer Challenge Week but also the release of some great new dies, stamps and stencils from Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I love to mix things up so I have combined some of the old with some of the new.

Karen challenged the team to feature her Stage It Stencils this month.  I love to stencil using paint, ink, sprays and molding paste but this time I decided to use one of my favorite new Stage It Stencils - Gears, as an embossing element.  It gives the same great effect as an embossing folder by simply using the embossing sandwich for your machine.

SteamPunky Monkey is back for a visit.

Here's how I made it!

I embossed my copper paper with the Gears Stage It Stencil (coming soon) then attached to card base.

I cut my card from dark brown cardstock using the Rectangle Pull Card Die. Using the Pull Card Edge Set I cut a piece of coordinating paper for the front panel.

Next came all the parts for Jinks the Monkey as well as the new Top Hat, Band and Wings from
the new Steampunk Charms Set.  If you are unsure how to assemble Jinks, click here for a video. After I began assembling Jinks, I decided to change the color of his face and chest piece.  I then added a bow tie from the Props 1.   The hat and wings are designed to be charms but I didn't need the ring on the hat so simply cut it off.  The loops on the wings came in very handy for attaching them to a gear using a brad.

While making my gears, from the Clock and Gears Set and the new Steampunk Charm Set, I discovered what I like calling "a happy accident".   I wanted my gears to have some dimension so decided to cut them from Fun Foam.   It worked perfectly except for the color of the foam.  A friend told me about this marvelous Rusty Paper Paint from Viva so I decided to see if it would work on Fun Foam.  I'm so happy with the results.  They look and feel just like rusty gears.

I couldn't find a link to the paint but I ordered it on line from JoAnn's.  The company is My Paper World, the Viva line.  If you enjoy steampunk as much as I do you will definitely want some of this.

Next comes the inside of the card.  Included in the Rectangle Pull Card is this handy little piece that makes anything you attach to it move.  I used the new Steampunk Clear Stamps for my greeting.  To assemble the moving platform, simply fold on the score lines, shown by the arrows, and add to the card in the fold. Next attach your greeting.

This was a fun card to put together.  Don't forget about using your stencils for embossing, who doesn't love double duty from one product?  The Stage It Stencils are high quality and have a convenient hole on the top of the stencil for a ring as well as the Elizabeth Craft Designs name etched on the top edge.

Hope to see you tomorrow when I will be sharing another new stencil, stamps and dies from the new release.

Until then - stay crafty,
S@ndy

A fun card for a guy-

Hi all and welcome - today I have one more card to share using the new release from Elizabeth Craft Designs - today I'm featureing Joset Designs.  This sail boat is so much fun to put together.  This die set is full of great pieces that add wonderful detail to a card.

One of the things I like best about these die sets is that they all work so well together.  I used the anchor from the Lighthouse die set along with some dies from Els Van de Burgt - Stitched Circles, Fitted Squares and Fitted Circles.  This great paper is from the Through the Lens collection also found at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

You can see all the great new products in this release by visiting the COMING SOON section of the Elizabeth Craft Designs website by clicking here.

Come by on Monday May 16, 2016, when it is the beginning of Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge Week where we will be challenged to use her Stage It Stencils.  I know you will enjoy seeing what the design team comes up with as well as a new video from Karen on Wednesday.

Have a great weekend,

More from the 2016 Spring Release @ Elizabeth Craft Designs

Well, it has certainly been an exciting week around Elizabeth Craft Designs, the 2016 Spring Release has been so much fun to see.  Be sure to visit the ECD Facebook Page to see what the designers are sharing from this fabulous new collection.

Today I'm sharing a couple simple cards that look more difficult than they are thanks to the design work of Els Van de Burgt.  These Dotted Scallop Rectangles and Dotted Scallop Ovals make it so easy to create a fun card in no time.

I have layered 3 or the 7 sizes that come in the set, they cut beautifully and layer perfectly.  Add a simple stamped image and a piece of ribbon and you're done.  This cute little hedgehog stamp is by Petroschi Designs by Bianca for ECD.

Here I have used 5 of the Dotted Scallop Ovals, all in white, to send a simple hello to friend.

Stop by Elizabeth Craft Designs and check their COMING SOON section to see all the new dies, stamps and stencils in this release.

Have a wonderful day and do something crafty.

More from the 2016 Spring Release - Karen Burniston

Well, here we are again, this time I have a fun tag to share that I made using some of the great new dies, stencils, and stamps from Karen Buniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Steampunk is right up my alley and Karen has provided me with some new inspiration.  Just love her new Steampunk Dies, Stage it Stencils and Clear Stamps, all linked below.

We are going Artsy with this one.

Making a perfect background is easy with the Stage It Stencil - Gears - which is shown on the blue portion of this tag. The new Steampunk Die Set comes with Gears, a Top Hat that fits all the Character, some cute Wings - used above - and the fabulous Key, also shown above.  They are all designed to be charms which is great but as you can see they can also be used as regular mixed media items.  The Steampunk Clear Stamp Set comes with some great phrases or you can mix them up to make your own.

I'm going to add my tag to the San Dee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge Blog
found here

I'll see you Thursday with a card using more great products from the new release by
Els Van de Burgt.

2016 Spring Release @ Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hi and welcome, today is the announcement of the new Spring Release at Elizabeth Craft Designs and I have a fun project to share with you.  We are taking a little trip to the sea where I am featuring some of the great new dies from Joset Designs.

I started out using a wooden box that I got at Hobby Lobby, it has a turntable on the bottom so it turns with a simple touch.  On the inside I added 3 battery operated tea lights so it can be used as a night light.  When tea lights are on it give a warm glow and highlights the lovely sea creatures.

I hope you will check out this part of the release by clicking on the links below.  You will find lots more in the COMING SOON section at Elizabeth Craft Designs

See you tomorrow for another reveal from Karen Burniston's new collection.

Have a crafty day,

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's to all you Mom's out there.  Hope you have a wonderful day and get to do just what makes you happiest.  I'm so fortunate to have my Mom, who is 89, and I love spending time with her.

I want to share the card I made for her.  It has lots of fussy flowers and pearls which isn't my usual style but I know she will love it.  I left a small panel on the last section to write my greeting.

I used the Accordion Circle for the card and the Paris Edges on each end - all designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I have linked the dies and embossing folder I used below.  I like to mix up lots of pieces from different die sets.   The paper and ribbon are from Stampin Up, Rich Razzleberry and Pretty in Pink.

Enjoy your day.
